HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR WAX
-
Take a warm shower/bath at least 2 hours before your waxing appointment to soften up your skin and hair follicles for easy hair removal.
-
Wear loose clothing such as sweatpants or yoga pants.
-
Wear clean, full back, cotton or stretchy fabric underwear. Lace and thongs can be uncomfortable to wear after an intimate wax.
-
Avoid working out before your appointment. If you do, exercise and shower at least two hours before your appointment.
-
(Optional) Take an ibuprofen/Advil an hour before your appointment.
-
Avoid caffeine and alcohol 2-3 hours before your appointment. Caffeine and alcohol (contrary to popular belief) can cause the skin to be more sensitive if consumed too close to your appointment.
-
Drink plenty of water the day before and day of your appointment to reduce dry skin and sensitivity.
WAXING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
-
Come in on a day when you’re not busy or just relaxing. To avoid irritation, you should avoid any activities that will include you getting hot or sweaty that day!
-
Wait 24-48 hours before exercising, swimming, working out, taking a hot bath, or using a hot tub/jacuzzi.
-
Wait 24-48 hours before having any form of sexual intercourse (vaginal/oral/anal) to reduce the risk of irritation, ingrown hairs, or bacterial infections.
-
Avoid touching the area for about 24 hours with your bare hands. If you do touch the area do so with clean, washed hands.
-
Avoid hot water for about 24 hours. Use tepid/lukewarm water in the shower later.
-
Wash the area using an unscented, gentle soap in the shower.
-
Exfoliate using an exfoliating glove/mitt, dry brush, or scrub after about 48 hours to prevent and reduce ingrown hairs.
-
Moisturize using a parfum/perfume-free lotion or suggested ingrown oil.
-
Do not use any harsh products on the area (including witch hazel or alcohol)
-
Do not pick at any ingrown hairs or try to remove them yourself. It will spread bacteria around and make conditions worse.
-
To reduce redness/irritations apply a cold compress to the area as desired!
WAXING FAQS
Can I still get waxed if I’m on my menstrual cycle?
Of course! As long as you put in a new tampon before your service, or wear a menstrual cup during. You may experience a bit more sensitivity during your cycle, starting 3 days before, and ending 3 days after. Please schedule your wax accordingly if you are more sensitive during your cycle. If you must reschedule your appointment, please do so 24-hours before your appointment. You are still subject to a 50% same day rescheduling/cancellation fee if you reschedule due to your cycle.
Can I still get waxed if I’m pregnant?
Absolutely! You can still be waxed while pregnant unless your doctor says otherwise. I suggest beginning waxing in the early stages of your pregnancy so that you’re used to the sensation of waxing before your third trimester. After birth, please wait 6-8 weeks to come back in and start waxing again.
